The Mid Unit is a clever Storage Solution that utilizes the available storage space where your second row of seats are located. This Storage Solution gives a huge increase in usable space within the vehicle and has the added advantage of being lighter than the seats being removed, giving you more weight carrying capacity and better weight distribution. Mid Units are removable, allowing rear seats to be refitted as needed.
This System comes in a variety of different options! Including:
– A Full Mid Unit which covers the full width of the second row of seats (the second row of seats will need to be removed)
– A Full Mid Unit with a Cargo Barrier behind the 1st row of seats
– A Full Mid Unit with a Cargo Barrier and custom designed shelving, for the ultimate use of storage space! These shelves can be made to be height adjustable, and do not have to span across the entire width of the vehicle. You can just have a 2/3 width shelf if you wish, giving you the ability to mount a second Fridge to the floor of the Mid Unit on one side if needed.
We can also custom design a small Soft Luggage Rack between the two Cargo Barriers as well!
NOTE: For a Full Mid Unit with Custom Shelving/Soft Luggage Rack, you must have a pre-existing Fourby Fitouts Storage System in the rear section of your vehicle, as we need to use the pre-existing Cargo Barrier as one side of the mounting points for the shelving.
Interstate shipping/DIY Installation is available for the Full Mid Unit & Cargo Barrier – please enquire via our contact us page. Fitting and Installation in our factory in Hallam, Victoria is also available. All Full Mid Units with custom shelving will need to be Fitted and Installed by the Fourby Fitouts team, as we tailor them to your requirements on the day of the install.
As with all of our Systems – The Isuzu MU-X Mid Unit is Modular, Removable, does not require any drilling of your vehicle, and comes with a 3 Year Warranty

“What an amazing adventure we have had over the past few years. Travelling around Australia in our 23’ Evernew Caravan and the ever-reliable Toyota LC200 we have been fortunate enough to visit some iconic and amazing places. From the rugged beauty of places like Cape York & The Oodnadatta Track to the tranquil ambience of The Whitsundays & Victorian High Country. Before we started this adventure we knew there were some mods that would be required to make our trip more comfortable and improve the safety of our rig. We added a diesel heater and Cruisemaster suspension to the van, we had the GVM increased in the car and probably our favourite upgrade was having the Fourby Fitouts storage system fitted in the LC200. This system make full use of the back of the cruiser and makes it so much easier to be organised. There are so many features that work beautifully and the quality is something that has drawn comments from others, even from some who have had other systems installed! Even after the punishment of the Oodnadatta Track and PDR, everything still works like new. The drawer spaces is the perfect dimensions for some essential tools and picnic gear, the shelves are spaced out exactly how we would want them and the fridge slide! With our 40lt Engel attached it just glides out giving us great access to the goodies inside. Oh yeah and the 20lt water tank has been a real plus, from filling water bottles to wash the sand of our feet before hoping in the car. It’s these types of accessories that keep us on the road travelling full time.”

Hi guys, Kerri and I have just returned from our first extended trip in our 300 Series. The fitout worked a treat! The unit has been the envy of all that have seen it they have all commented on the quality and look of the unit. More important is the functionality, it certainly allowed us to maximise our storage! I didn’t need extra boxes or bags, the pullout drawer fitted everything in an organised manner, with some thought I was able to reduce what I carried which ultimately reduced weight! The side boxes were just a bonus for loose items. We are really satisfied with the unit and cant thank you guys enough for your service.
